Wallenpaupack Creek Farm is made up of 40 acres. The property is bordered on two sides by creeks. Along the Wallenpaupack Creek in one corner of the property is our most popular location for ceremonies. We also a honeymoon yurt. We are located near Lake Wallenpaupack in the rural Pocono Mountains – just a 2 hour drive from Philadelphia and 2 hours from NYC. Lake Wallenpaupack is a beautiful mountain lake with an abundance of wildlife, hiking and boat opportunities.

The yurt itself is 20 feet in diameter and is decorated with a simple but elegant style. It is furnished with a dining area, queen size canopied bed, and comfortable pull out couch. We will provide bedding for the queen sized bed. We don’t provide bedding for the pull out couch. The yurt has windows for a cool cross breeze and a sky light dome that is perfect for star gazing at night.
We have a woodstove inside the yurt to use for heat in the cooler weather. We recommend that you are capable of making an indoor fire - or plan to dress warm and use extra bedding at night! We provide wood for the indoor fire.
The yurt is off the grid - no running water or full electricity. We have a small solar panel which provides limited energy - depending on the amount of sun, enough to power a lamp and charge cell phones. *NOTE:on extra cloudy days there may be no electricity storage in the battery
Indoor wood stove:
***if you plan to stay in the colder months you MUST be comfortable starting/maintaining a wood burning stove. Please only come in the warm months if you are not comfortable with a wood burning stove.
We do provide all wood for the indoor stove.
Please DO NOT cook inside the yurt - we want to avoid smells in the yurt and luring mice into the yurt.
Outside eating/cooking area...
We have an outdoor kitchen/bar that looks over the fields. In this outdoor kitchen we have a propane stove top (no oven) and a propane bbq grill and numerous seating and eating areas in a garden setting. We provide the propane.
We have a campfire area - we provide the first bin of firewood and any additional firewood is available for purchase by the honor system ($10 for a large bundle). If you prefer to bring your own firewood that is fine too!
Other things to note:
The yurt is off the grid - there is no electricity or running water. We have a small solar panel which provides a limited energy source. We have a porta-potty and use water from containers for cooking and cleaning. We recommend that you bring flashlights, lanterns or headlamps to get around outside and to find the porta-potty at night.
