Flatt Rock Wine Cellars: Your Idyllic Winery Wedding Awaits

Not to be missed on your venue (and wine) tour circuit is Flatt Rock Wine Cellars: a family-owned and operated winery boasting incredible wines, a charming story, and a stunning new custom event facility, perfect for wowing your guests on your big day.
We caught up with the owner, David Flatt, to get his take on what sets his space apart:
Flatt Rock Venue Story:
My wife and I spent three years in France, so that's where our passion for wines came from- Flatt Rock Wine Cellars is our retirement passion project. We only make wine that we'd drink ourselves and specialize in the old-world, European style. Our red wines typically age three years in oak barrels, which provides depth and complexity to our wines.
To maximize our beautiful piece of land, we designed and built a custom event center to take advantage of the stunning view of looking over the vineyard, the lake, and the hillside.
What makes your event facility & the setting unique?
Our venue at Flatt Rock offers a unique setting with fabulous views of the vineyard and Seneca Lake. We include a getting-ready room for the bride and her entourage. It also provides a lot of flexibility with the design and function of the facility. Both sides of the event facility have sliding doors that open for an open-air feel, and the facility has both heating and air conditioning to ensure guests' comfort year-round. Additionally, two green spaces offer options for expansion with a tent or outdoor activities. Lastly, the facility was designed with your caterer's needs in mind- caterers love events at our space!
What is your favorite aspect of hosting weddings?
Sharing our beautiful site and vineyard and the beauty and ambiance of the Finger Lakes. We're incredibly passionate about the quality of our wines and love when couples opt to serve those at their events. We're also happy to share best practices and tips to ensure a special event day that runs smoothly.
What advice would you give to a couple getting married on your property?
Get a coordinator that takes care of the details for you to ensure your special day is stress-free and exactly what they're dreaming of. Also be sure to take advantage of the gorgeous setting, with pictures in the vineyard, down at the waterfront on the lake, and really take time and be present day-of to enjoy your experience with your loved ones, friends, and family.
