Our Story
How We Met
5 years of long distance.
We met off of a queer facebook group, where other likeminded gay singles would gather to find potential matches. When I posted my post introducing myself to the crowd, while others were busy replying and showing their interest, KB tagged his friend. I replied that I was more interested in him than his friend.
The first Instagram DM that I sent was left on read (I don't blame him, stranger danger). The second DM message that I sent, however, was a reply to his outreach for somebody to teach him how to use Snapchat. That was what had us talking for hours, sending messages and photos over Snapchat of his life in Seoul, Korea, and my life in Fort Riley, Kansas. After years of talking over the phone, through video messages and conversations on Snapchat, we decided that we should meet.

The Proposal
It all started when KB mentioned he wanted to go to the beach. And in the DMV, what better place to visit than Ocean City, Maryland? He wanted to see the ocean, but not necessarily get in the water. So, we made a little trip out of it, bringing my cousin and her friend along for a relaxing day by the shore.
We spent the afternoon enjoying the sun, the sand, and the peaceful sound of the waves. It was the perfect way to unwind. Then, just as we were about to leave, I decided it was time for the surprise.
I told KB we were filming a TikTok video, keeping things casual as I reached for the ring. At first, he laughed, thinking it was just part of the video. But then, as he saw the ring and the look on my face, reality set in that this wasn't just for fun, and it was real.
