Outdoor & Nature

Drumlin Farm Wildlilfe Sanctuary

208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773

A beautiful working farm and wildlife sanctuary all in one. Watch the pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, and cows in the farmyard; see how crops are sustainably grown; walk the trails to explore field, forest, and wetland habitat; and observe resident owls, hawks, and a fox in the native wildlife exhibit. One of Kat’s favorite places from childhood and still today. Just ask Scott... he had plans to propose in their goat pen!

Walden Pond

915 Walden Street, Concord, MA 01742

Best known through Henry David Thoreau's Walden, Walden Pond and the surrounding Walden Woods was a favorite destination for walks by local Concord Transcendentalists Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Thoreau's writings inspired respect for nature and even, some consider, the birth of the conservation movement. Enjoy a day of swimming, walking its woods trails or boating out on the water. Also be sure to visit the replica of Thoreau's single-room cabin.

The Old North Bridge & The Old Manse

174 Liberty Street, Concord, MA 01742

A half mile from Concord center, the Old North Bridge is a historic landmark where the “shot heard round the world” began the Revolutionary War in 1775. The bridge spans the Concord river and follows into a short walking path with beautiful scenery. A stone’s throw away is the Old Manse, another preserved historical site which was home to Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne and served as the center of Concord's political, literary, and social revolutions for a century. Open to the public, tours also available.

Lincoln Walking Trails

Lincoln is known for its wealth of beautiful rural conservation land. Enjoy the walking and hiking trails which span over 500 acres of preserved land.
