Travel

We apologize for the destination wedding... but it was going to be a "destination" for the majority anyways ( right?) At least now we can get fresh sea food :)

Directions

Seattle - Tacoma International Airport is the best location to fly into. We do not recommend attempting to DRIVE through South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana during the last two weeks of October. We traditionally have 6-12 inches of show and negative temps for our birthdays ( now wedding.) It is very common to have high ways closed during this period.

****Shuttles will be from Preston - Fall city Park 'N' Ride lot located at: 30303 SE High PointWay, Issaquah, WA 98027 at the I-90 entrance
for guests to park and be transported to the venue. ( Please do not Uber/Lift to the venue. It is not allowed by the Venue and often causes chaos due to the limited space and busy road.) ****

Shuttles will begin at 345p. Guests may start arriving at the venue at 4pm and the ceremony will start at 430p. Shuttles will be on stand bye through out the evening for guests to leave at their desired time. Since our east coast friends will be on a 3 hour time difference... there will be NO hard feelings. Kind of expect Arminda to "Irish Goodbye" her own wedding at 930 Mt time.

This historic building was built in 1941, by Roy Thompson, and is still owned today by members of the family. The business changed hands a couple times throughout the years. In 1990, on a scouting trip to find a location for his new movie/pilot /series, David Lynch found the setting of this cafe perfect! He then filmed the now famous TV series “Twin Peaks” highlighting the cafe’s cherry pie!
Today the cafe is known as Twede’s Cafe, renown for great food, and plenty of it! With the great burger variety, huge breakfasts, and home-style dinners, “No one ever goes away hungry!” At Twede’s, almost everything is made from scratch and they still have “Twin Peaks” cherry pie!

Visit a Haunted Pub

Kells Irish Pub is a popular bar by Pike Place Market, often filled to capacity on the weekends, but its history is much more interesting than people watching the drunk college students stumble out. The original building, the Butterworth Building, was built in 1903 and was the site of a mortuary.

Seattle was filling up with more dead bodies than it could handle due to disease and labor accidents, and thousands of bodies passed through the Butterworth building. Fast forward to today, where this building is now an Irish pub.

More reports of unearthly activity have been reported than can be counted. The upstairs wood floors creak when no one else is in the building, mirrors have shattered suddenly with no explanation, and people have sworn on their mother’s grave they have seen countless figures in the shadows and stairwell of the building.

Employees report feeling a sudden burst of cold air in certain parts, even with no air conditioning on. Go for a pint and see for yourself if you notice anything out of the ordinary in one of the most haunted places in Seattle.

This is one of the best things to do in Seattle in October, as you can get into the Halloween spirit here, and Halloween in Seattle is one of the best times to be in the city. I’ve been here a handful of times before, and while I’ve never seen a ghost, I do feel a little creeped out every time I go to the bathroom and it’s a bit quiet and eerie in there…

Walk Around the Arboretum (Washington Park Arboretum )

Drive to the Coast ( Olympic National Park )

If you feel like getting out of the city for a Seattle day trip, Seattle in the fall is the perfect time to visit Ruby Beach at Olympic National Park.

This takes about 3 hours to get to when leaving from Seattle, so you can either make it a really long day trip or decide to spend the night on the Olympic Peninsula. This beach is one of the prettiest ones in Washington, so it’s well worth the drive. You can explore the Olympic Peninsula for the day or go hiking on the Olympic Peninsula.

You can also spend a Seattle weekend trip here to extend your time exploring the area.

Take a Stroll Through Japanese Gardens ( Seattle Japanese Gardens )
