Our Story
How We Met
Chris and Sam's story began in the most modern way, they meet via a dating app called Hinged.
Once Sam's profile appeared on Chris's phone, he knew if she matched with him, he had to talk to her and get a date set up. As faith would have it, Sam did indeed match with Chris. This was a hard time to date; it was in November of 2020 and the whole world was closed down. Sam and Chris decided to do a virtual date via Facetime, and to say the least they found each other charming, and the date went on for hours. From that point forward they knew they had to meet each other to see where this spark took them. They started small by ordering in and going on walks to eventually being able to go on real dates once the world began to open again. This adventure continued and they travelled all over from Alaska to the Caribbean. After nearly 3 years together, Chris knew he had found the love of his life and so did Sam.
The Proposal
After 3 years of dating Chris and Sam knew they were meant for each other. Chris knew that Sam’s favorite holiday was Christmas so he started planning the proposal around Christmas time. Chris and Sam had talked about marriage for a long time and Chris knew the perfect engagement ring to get Sam, this ring had to be custom ordered and the arrival date was cutting it close to when Chris planned to propose. The jeweler called Chris days before the proposal letting him know that the ring was in. Unfortunately for Chris when he got to the jewelers, the jeweler had misplaced the engagement ring. Both Chris and the Jeweler were in complete panic. By some sort of Christmas miracle the jeweler found the ring after he had been searching the entire jewelry store for hours. Sam always wanted a private engagement so Chris set the scene in front of the Christmas tree during the early morning hours of December 23, 2023. While Sam was sleeping Chris set up 36 roses, one for each month they had been dating, put a bottle of champagne on ice and layout an assortment of chocolates and pictures of all the adventures they have been on together. Chris could not sleep he was so anxious. Sam woke up around 4:30am with a little help from Chris tossing and turning. Chris invited Sam down stairs to watch the sun rise and Sam agreed. Chris ran down stairs, grabbed the engagement ring and when Sam got down stairs Chris was standing in front of the Christmas tree. Chris took Sam's hand and reminisced about all the fun they've had together over the last 3 years, then Chris got down on his knee and asked Sam to marry him. Sam graciously accepted. They spent the rest of the holidays celebrating with friends and family.
