Our Story
How We Met
Lua & Chris knew of each other in high school between 2009-2012, but it would take them until summer of 2018 to reconnect and fall in love!

Cómo nos conocimos:
Lua y Chris se conocieron en la escuela secundaria entre 2009 y 2012, pero no fue hasta el verano de 2018 cuando volvieron a encontrarse y enamorarse.
The Proposal
Lua and Chris had been dating for about a year and a half when Lua considered going to Israel for another year of Baha’i service. In December 2019, on a cold night, they talked about being apart for a year and what their relationship would look like. Regardless if Lua went or not, it was evident they wanted to be together. In that moment they asked each other if they wanted to marry the other. They both said "Yes!" and started planning how to tell their families.
In the Baha’i Faith, you need parental consent to marry. In February of 2020, they sat down with their parents to ask for consent, which was given without question!
Due to the pandemic hitting a week after their engagement, they couldn't share their happy news right away. Now, almost four years later, they're ready to celebrate their love with all their friends & family!

La propuesta de matrimonio:
Lua y Chris fueron novios durante aproximadamente un año y medio. Lua consideró ir a Israel por otro año de servicio Bahá'í. Una noche fría, en Diciembre de 2019, hablaron acerca de cómo separarse durante un año y cómo sería su relación durante ese tiempo. Si Lua se iba o se quedaba, quedó claro que querían estar juntos. En ese momento, se preguntaron mutuamente si querían casarse el uno con el otro. ¡Ambos dijeron "Sí!" y comenzaron a planear cómo contarles las noticias a sus familias.
En la Fe Bahá'í, se necesita el consentimiento de los padres para casarse. En Febrero de 2020, se sentaron con sus padres para pedir su consentimiento, que se dio sin ninguna pregunta!
Una semana después de su compromiso, llegó la pandemia, y no pudieron compartir sus felices noticias en persona inmediatamente. Ahora, casi cuatro años después, están listos para celebrar su amor con todos sus amigos y familiares.
