We met during one of those social hours called Eagles Nest during middle school — nothing dramatic, just a simple introduction, a conversation that somehow didn’t feel forced. At first, we were just friends. We talked, we laughed, and we had serious conversations. And slowly, without either of us saying it out loud, something shifted.
For a year, we stayed in that space between friendship and something more. We ran track together — sprinting, hurdling, breathing in the same dusty air at practice. I was always in the stands for his other sports, not because I had to be, but because I wanted to be.
Eventually, we crossed that invisible line between friends and more-than-friends. It didn’t happen with a grand gesture or a dramatic confession. It was quiet, almost inevitable. Looking back, maybe it was always there — we just needed time to recognize it for what it was.
Our proposal wasn’t over-the-top or dramatic — and that’s exactly how we wanted it. We always pictured something small, intimate, and meaningful.
In November of 2023, we planned to get updated couple photos taken. That was the perfect cover to keep the proposal a surprise. We chose a quiet Christmas tree farm as the location — it was simple, peaceful, and just right for the moment we were about to share.
It was a beautiful day — the kind that makes everything feel calm and a little magical. Right there, in the moment, I asked (stuttered...lol) her to marry me.
And she said yes.
