Our Story
How We Met
We first started talking online on April 23rd of 2016, which resulted in Marc ghosting Calvin. A few months later, we reconnected, went on dates, and officially started dating September 23rd of 2016. We met at the Montage Mountain Starbucks, had dinner at Panera (which was Calvin's first time there), then drove over to the Cinemark movie theatre to watch Bad Moms.
The Proposal
Marc started formulating the idea of proposing around 2019 to 2020 (he had known that Calvin was the one for a while). When 2021 reared its head, Marc made the first steps to getting a ring in June. Marc kept a memento box inspired by Pixar's Up full of love letters, every movie ticket stub, the first tickets they won at an arcade together, and various other keepsakes. Marc asked Jasmine (Calvin's bestfriend) to come back from her internship in Hawai'i to be the distraction for the proposal. On May 23rd of 2022, at Rickett's Glen State Park, Marc proposed with a handmade premier ball ring box holding the custom engagement ring in the design of Final Fantasy XIII Lightning's pendant, and a Pokémon edition Gameboy Color with Pokémon Crystal cartridge in. The Pokémon party nicknames in the game spelled out: Calvin, I Love You, Will, You, Marry, Me. Calvin said yes and a few other choice words.
