Our Story

How We Met

We met our freshman year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, in a hiking, camping club called Alfresco. It was November 8th, 2019, the club went on a camping trip in Hayward, WI. Jack arrived in the first vehicle and was making a trip back to the parking spot to grab another load when he passed Olivia who was heading to camp. That was the first time our eyes met, on a trail, in the woods of Hayward, Wisconsin. We had a great weekend camping with our new found friends. We made memories visiting a small waterfall, making breakfast and especially the mittens that were worn that weekend. We met back up at Stout and realized that we lived in the same dorm building! After we found that out we became the best of friends and from that point on, our relationship only grew stronger.

The Proposal

Jack had planned to go visit his friend Cole at GCU in Phoenix, Arizona. Of course, Olivia wanted to go along because who doesn't want to go to Arizona, on a vacation, in the middle of winter. When we decided to make the journey to Arizona, it took a lot of planning, the main plan was to do as much hiking and exploring as possible. Little did Olivia realize that when we left for Sedona, Arizona on Saturday, January 14th of 2023, that it would be the hike that changed our lives forever. Cole and Jack had originally made plans for us to go to the Edge of the World, however plans changed a couple times due to weather, a plan C was needed. As we were driving, we eventually found a red rock mountain we could go for a hike up. We made it to the top and we were speechless, the scenery was amazing. We spent some time on the top wandering around and staring in awe of the beautiful landscape around us. Naturally, we started taking pictures, Jack gave Cole his phone, sent his drone up in the sky and got down on one knee. The rest is history.
