Our Story
How We Met
Daniel and I first met in 2015 while he was working at The Alligator Park at Fudpuckers and I was working as a Wildlife Health Technician at the Wildlife Refuge. It was early in the morning and I was promoting a fund raiser for the Refuge in the parking lot of Fudpuckers. I had some of the animal ambassadors with me to attract attention of passersby, which also caught Daniel's eye. We spoke casually about the animals, and he offered to show me some of the exhibit alligators he cared for. He was enthusiastic, witty, and kind. We wrapped up our conversation and went about our business. I found him quite charming, but I had bigger tasks to focus on that day and daydreaming about handsome men was not on the list.
A few days went by and to my surprise I received a message from "Dan the Gator Man"! Unbeknownst to me, my boss at the time knew a co-worker of Daniels who spoke very highly of him and thought we would make a cute match, passing along my phone number.
Our friendship grew quickly, and we found we shared a lot of common interests. It helped that he was a successful, handsome man with a motorcycle! Soon after, a sweet young dog, we later named Rambo, was in need of a forever home and fell right into Daniel's lap. Rambo became best friends with my fur child, Achilles. It was a perfect match. We were spending weekends together at the dog park and going on cannoning adventures at the local Springs. Before long, Daniel invited Tilles and I to live with him, as I was making some big life changes and starting school again. The transition was easy. Daniel was supportive through everything. He became my rock when I need stability and my pillow when I needed somewhere soft to fall. We set off together down the road of life and have never looked back. The rest is history.
The Proposal
Our love story has been going strong for 10 years now. Neither one of us is a big party planner, nor did we feel the need to rush into a marriage. We cherish every trip, every adventure, and every sunset together. We were having so much fun living life, the years began adding up! Then one day in September of 2021 on a hunting trip to Colorado, after hiking up a trail appropriately called Hell Roaring, nearly dying several times, and continuing up to the top of Elk Mountain, reaching an elevation of 11,780 feet, he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
We cannot wait to share this big day with all of our friends and family. We wouldn't be the people we are today without you.
