Our Story
How We Met
In October 2015, our friend (and wedding officiant) Tom Zych set us up on a blind date. We met up for drinks and apps at Right Proper Brewing Company and then cocktails at All Souls Bar. We bonded over our love of gin, all varieties of food, and brief childhood periods in which we each donned an eye patch. We were inseparable for the next year in DC: eating, drinking, watching movies, playing board games, watching live music, crafting, and exploring the city.
The following year, Will accepted a job in his native Massachusetts, and we spent six months long-distance. Fortunately, Sarah was traveling up to Boston frequently for work and that made life apart a lot easier to bear. Sarah moved to Boston after securing a new job and we moved in together in January 2017. Our apartment came with a cat named Lincoln and he has so far allowed us to stay.
The Proposal
Grand plans for a faraway proposal were put on hold by COVID-19, and in October 2020 we celebrated our 5th anniversary. Staying local for the subsequent holidays, Will proposed to Sarah during a hike at the Moose Hill Mass Audubon Sanctuary on December 27, 2020. She said yes!
