How We Met

How did we meet? Well, if you ask Travis, he’ll probably start with a made up story like being rescued from a burning building or Tori saving him from a wild bear chase—we like to keep people guessing. But the real answer is that we met the way most modern day love stories do- Hinge. It wasn’t a grand entrance or a magical setup; it was two people who’d been through enough life to know what they truly wanted, finding each other in the most unexpected way.

Our first date was at Double Trouble, a bar and tattoo shop in Austin, and what was meant to be a casual meetup quickly turned into seven hours of deep, meaningful conversation. We talked about things most people tiptoe around on a first date, but for us, nothing felt off-limits. From the moment we met, there was this unexplainable feeling, like we’d known each other forever. We laughed, we opened up, Travis took his shirt off at the bar, and somewhere between those first sips and last call, something just clicked.

After that night, it was as if the first date never ended. Even now, as time passes, our love has only grown stronger and deeper. People tell us that we act like we’ve known each other for years, and in a way, we have—just maybe not in this lifetime.

Travis is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Loving him is like finding a part of myself I didn’t even know was missing. Our love isn’t about grand gestures or flashy stories; it’s about the quiet moments and the simple joy of showing up for each other, day after day. Through laughter, support, and a kind of honesty that feels rare, we keep building this life together.
