Our Story

How We Met

We had met each other at Marissa's favorite bar where she was celebrating her 21st birthday. I decided to go up to Marissa and say "Are you going to buy me a drink already or just keep staring at me all night long" in order to stand out from every other guy who would likely ask to buy her a drink. A little puzzled she had a good laugh and didn't forget who I was. At this time in our lives we had not been aligned to connect on a deeper level until we rekindled our connection many years later as we were both heading into our last year of graduate school.

After a lot of convincing Marissa agreed to go on a date with me and then we wrote our own unusual love story trusting each other and jumping head first into a long distance relationship. We made the most of our time with weekend visits in the city and savoring the little time we got in-between full time work and school. Then we hit the real world running together taking our relationship to a deeper level raising a puppy together. Getting to spend each day together raising our Remedy it made me fall in love with her more and more each day. Marissa is an amazing person who puts the cares for individuals above herself and is truly selfless, she inspires me to be a better person each and every day.

The Proposal

Quinton and Marissa headed down to Cape Cod for a special beach vacation. Marissa had told me countless stories of her favorite memories associated with summers spent on various east coast beaches enjoying the sun and the sand. I found the perfect little Inn on the coast of Massachusetts about 40 minutes from Marthas Vineyard. Debbie the owner of the Inn on the Sound in Falmouth, MA made everything possible to ensure a perfect proposal. I was able to coordinate a sunset beach picnic on the first night of our stay on a perfect summer day. After dinner had ended 45 minutes early, I was truly panicked I was going to be all wrong in my timing but we made the most of our evening with a nightcap and a walk before heading down to my spot.

We headed down to a private beach where Debbie had helped me set up a pathway of fresh rose peddles leading to a bouquet of a dozen roses, and a bottle of champagne with some fresh chocolates. As we walked down overwhelmed with emotions I got down on one knee forgetting everything I planned on saying then took a deep breath and asked Marissa to spend the rest of her life with me.

In that beautiful moment we felt more love for each other than one could have imagined it would feel like. After Marissa said yes we spent the night laughing about how much I was sweating and stalling through dinner to arrive at that perfect moment in the night with her. We watched a sunset together and headed back to the Inn as an engaged couple ready to enjoy the rest of our vacation and start another new chapter in life together.
