Our Story

How We Met

We met in high school in our hometown of Highlands, NC. After we graduated high school, we both went to college in Western NC and lost touch. Tiff became a travel nurse and left the state for a few years, and Tyler enjoyed working with plants at Main Street Nursery in Highlands. After Tiffany's Mimi passed away, she moved back home to help with the family business, Jackson Hole Gem Mine. We reconnected and became best friends, but quickly realized we had a deeper connection. We fell in love almost instantly. We dated without expectations for the future, but it became obvious that we were a perfect match. We are so happy to announce our upcoming marriage, and can't wait to have everyone celebrate the start of this next chapter in our lives!

The Proposal

Tiffany and her mom Holly are both jewelers at Jackson Hole Gem Mine, so Tyler didn't have to look very far for a ring. Secretly Tyler and Holly planned and made Tiffany's engagement ring: one of Holly's sapphires surrounded by diamonds in a beautiful band. Tyler kept the ring hidden until we went for a weekend away in Asheville, NC with Tyler's sister and brother-in-law, Eric. We spent the weekend in downtown Asheville and finished our weekend getaway with a Sunday brunch at Sierra Nevada Brewery. Tyler planned to propose here, but it was so busy on that July day and Tyler knew that this special moment would best be shared in private. We went home and decided to continue our party at one of our favorite spots on the Cullasaja river. Erin and Eric joined us, and as we were enjoying our time listening to music and drinking some brews, Tyler signaled to Erin by playing our song, Sweet Pea by Amos Lee. He pulled out the ring and proposed. It was perfect in every way!
