Our Story
How We Met
Veronica was a single mom, just trying to be strong,
With Noland by her side, they had been through so much wrong.
Thought no one would want her, with her heart full of fear,
But then she met Jake, and held him so near.
On OKCupid, she shared her nerdy side,
A love for Pokémon, with nothing to hide.
Jake messaged first, with his sarcastic tone,
A chill vibe that matched, in ways she’d never known.
They talked, they laughed, and soon they called,
His voice brought comfort, she felt safe from it all.
They shared their love for anime, geeked out at Tekko,
And laughed with Carlos Mencia, at the casino.
But it wasn’t the fun that made them see,
That they were meant to be.
On their third date, he held her tight,
And said, "I’ll be the dad for Noland, if that feels right."
In his arms, she cried, her heart full of grace,
For she knew she’d found her forever place.
With love on their side, they are no longer alone,
Together they’ve built a love that has grown.
So here’s to their future, their family so true,
And they tell each other “I’m so happy it’s you.”
The Proposal
Seven years together, their love had grown,
For five of those years, she wanted alone.
Hoping, yet patient, for a dream to unfold,
That dream was Jake, and the love he’d hold.
On Christmas morning, the air full of cheer,
Noland had opened his gifts, full of wonder, no fear.
Then she dove into hers, excitement in sight,
When Jake handed her a small bag, her heart took flight.
Could this be the moment? The one she had dreamed?
A ring, perhaps? Her heart gently screamed.
She opened the bag, and there they were—
Two pairs of earrings, exactly as she’d asked for.
She smiled and thanked him, happy with the gift,
But her heart still wondered, was there more to it?
Then Jake asked softly, “Is there more you see?”
She looked again, what could it possibly be?
At the bottom of the bag, a note folded tight,
She unfolded it carefully, her heart alight.
It read, “My last name,” and in that instant,
Tears filled her eyes, a moment so persistent.
She looked up and saw him, down on one knee,
With a ring in his hand, and love in his plea.
“Will you marry me?” he asked with a chill,
And through happy tears, she whispered, “Yes, I will.”
