Directions
For those traveling from out of town, you have two airport options:
Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) – The closest major airport, with plenty of flight options and about a 40 min drive to our venue.
San Antonio International Airport (SAT) – Another great option, located about 50 mins away. Both airports offer rental cars, rideshare services, and other transportation options to make your trip easy.
Our Lady of Wisdom University Parish is located in the heart of San Marcos, TX, near the Texas State University campus just a short drive from IH-35 and central to the local area. Parking is limited. There is a small parking lot at the church and ll angled spaces along Concho Street and in the Cage are open to the public. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see a picture of all available parking around Our Lady of Wisdom.
The Texas Rock House wedding venue and event space sits on over five acres of farmland just a few minutes south of San Marcos, TX on Hunter Rd. Parallel to IH 35 to the west, Hunter Road runs along the fault line that separates the "hills" from the "flat" and is the old stagecoach road between San Marcos and New Braunfels.
From Austin:
Take S IH 35 to San Marcos
Take Exit 201 to S IH 35 Frontage Road.
Take a Right on E McCarty Ln.
Take a Left on Hunter Rd.
TRH is on the Left

From San Antonio:
Take N IH 35 to San Marcos
Take Exit 200 to N IH 35 Frontage Road. Use the middle lane to take a Left onto Centerpoint Rd.
Take a Right on Hunter Rd.

Floating the San Marcos River
The San Marcos River is a must-experience! With crystal-clear, spring-fed water, it’s perfect for floating, swimming, or just relaxing by the banks. Popular tubing spots include Lions Club Tube Rental, where you can enjoy a leisurely float through the heart of San Marcos. For swimming, head to Sewell Park, a scenic spot on the Texas State University campus with easy river access and lush green lawns. Another favorite is Rio Vista Park, which features small rapids for adventurous swimmers and plenty of space to lounge.
Floating in New Braunfels
Just a 30-minute drive south of San Marcos, New Braunfels is famous for its incredible river floats! The Comal River, known as the “longest shortest river in the world,” offers a calm, family-friendly tubing experience with crystal-clear spring water and fun tube chutes. For a longer, more adventurous float, head to the Guadalupe River, which winds through picturesque Hill Country landscapes.
