Our Story
How We Met
Ryan and Jordyn originally met in high school when it was 'cool' to hang out in the Millard South High School parking lot. Jordyn wasn't Ryan's biggest fan in the beginning, but when their paths crossed again a decade later, she gave him a chance. Although they were both gun-shy about announcing a new relationship, the couple officially started dating on April Fool's Day in 2020. As Alan Jackson has sung, "I'm a fool, fool, fool for you", Ryan and Jordyn are fools for one another.
The Proposal
The weekend of Jordyn's 30th Birthday, Ryan had planned to pop the question. What Jordyn thought was a small gathering of friends for dinner and cosmic bowling turned out to be a surprise birthday AND engagement party! Ryan proposed in the backyard of their home and managed to capture most of it on video. After the proposal, they headed to get a 'quick bite' with some friends before heading to the bowling alley. To her surprise, not but 10 minutes after getting engaged, they were greeted with their family and friends at a surprise 30th birthday party. However, the guests were equally surprised to find out the couple had gotten engaged before arriving. The night was filled with surprises, laughter and celebration of the newly engaged couple.
