Our Story
How We Met
In 2021, after being at college for two years, Soren was home for the summer in Iowa. He went out with his friends in Cedar Falls at the bar Derringers and so did Tyerra and her friends. What they weren't planning was meeting the love of their lives.
As friends in each of our groups talked to each other, Soren and Tyerra made eye contact and smiled. Soren got the courage to come up to Tyerra to tell her he's noticed her all night. They stayed attached by the hip the rest of the night until bar close where a snapchat add and hug ended the night.
That was May 21, 2021. Their first date was May 25, 2021 where Soren met Oliver and witnessed him pull Tyerra down in the mud. Without skipping a beat Soren helped Tyerra up, grabbed Ollie's leash, and we kept hiking. In the rain. When it was 40 degrees out.
We spent the summer with each other, going hiking and spending time at the quarry in Cedar Falls. When August came, Soren had to go back to college in Moorhead MN, 6 1/2 hours away. For the next year we dated long distance (but barely because Soren came to see Tyerra every weekend he could). Then, in August of 2022, Tyerra and Oliver moved to Fargo, ND to live with Soren. We lived together for a year, then the question came.
The Proposal
Even though Soren knew Tyerra was the one since the first day he met her, he wanted to get done with college first. After he finished college, he started planning for a proposal and ended up popping the question on September 15th, 2023.
Soren bought a ring and started planning for a proposal she would never forget. He had her friends invite Tyerra out to a nice dinner where they got dressed up. Before they could leave, Tyerra got a call from Soren, who was out on a hike with Oliver. His car wouldn't start and he need her to come give him a jump. When Tyerra showed up, Soren was leaning up against a tree waiting for her. He brought her over to two trees with hanging flower garlands and other decorations. And that's when Soren popped the question.
After that, they had a picnic with champagne and watched the sunset. Once the sun went down, they went to an engagement party that had been set up by their friends.
We are so lucky to have these amazing friends and family that have been with us through everything. We can't wait to see all of you at the wedding!
