Our Story
How We Met
In summer of 2019, Matt had just gotten home from living in Uganda and Taylor had just graduated college. They both started their careers at Regeneron, first laying their eyes on each other in training. Matt tried to talk to Taylor multiple times but to no avail, she seemed uninterested. Matt remained persistent for a few months and created opportunities to chat with Taylor at the coffee machine (Matt started drinking coffee at this time). September came and Taylor and Matt ran into each other at City Beer Hall, where despite how it appeared, Taylor confessed that she did indeed have a crush on him. Skipping ahead Matt finally got his date with Taylor and they made it official October 13, 2019. Little did he know that this quest he was so determined to conquer would result in a lifetime of animals he didn't want and a house in the country!
The Proposal
Camping at Moffit Beach in Speculator, NY has been an annual trip taken by the Thompson family for over 25 years. Typically held around Taylor's birthday, it is a week filled with celebration, campfires, lake activities, and family bonding; making this a very special place to Taylor. Summer of 2023's trip was extra monumental. The day before her birthday (July 8th), with the help of Raya, surrounded by both families, and with some liquid courage, Matt presented Taylor with the biggest present yet- a proposal and ring.
