Our Story
How We Met
While in college, Shaun and Chris both took a job at a local CPA firm in Hartford, CT to start their accounting careers. Shaun started in 2004 and when Chris joined the company in 2008 they became fast friends. There were lunches, happy hours, parties and late nights out in downtown Hartford with Silvia.
The Proposal
With a history of celebrating our anniversary at nice restaurants, we knew we had to continue this tradition once we moved to Charlotte. We choose to spend anniversaries and special occasions at The Crunkleton. We decided to spend Christmas 2021 in Charlotte together instead of heading north during winter. Shaun reserved a Christmas Eve dinner date ahead of our Christmas day traditions. What she didn't know was Chris had a different plan for the evening. We started off the evening with a few beers at Burial at one of their holiday pop-ups before heading out for dinner. Chris strategically planned the proposal in advance with the staff at The Crunkleton while Shaun remained oblivious. Who would expect a proposal 10 years in! What is usually a great date night turned into a fantastic evening with the help of the staff and some great friends. We want to thank our friends and family who helped with the surprise, celebrated our evening and picked up our late night Facetime calls!
