Our Story

How We Met

Unfortunately, we do not have an elaborate and fairy-tale story of how we first met. However, we are very firm believers in the invisible string theory. Prior to us finally crossing paths, we had known of each other for about a year. Living in such a small town, we knew a lot of the same people, so when we saw our faces on a not to be named dating site 🤦, we had to swipe right. Our first time meeting face-to-face is a whole different story. The rest is history!!

The Proposal

One of our favorite places to go is Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Our first time going there was with each other, and we fell in love with the quaint little town. Ever since going in October of 2020, we could not help but to make several day trips there within the three years since first going. So, Dawson thought it was most appropriate to pop the question in our favorite corner of PA. He planned to go for the Fall Foliage Festival. After heading into a couple shops, including the book store, we decided to take a walk down to the river. After taking a nice stroll off the beat and path, Dawson announced that he picked something up for Mikaela in the book store. On the outside, it looked like a Harry Potter book (we have been trying to collect the whole series). He said that he found it when Mikaela walked out of the store and had to surprise her with it. However, there were two imperfections to the book. It was dog-eared and written in on one page. The underlined quote happened to be "And after my heart had skipped a couple of beats, I blinked and said, in a very quiet voice, to the first woman I'd ever everythinged, MARRY ME." He flipped around the book, and in it, sat the ring in a carved out section of the book. Mikaela obviously said YES!
