Our Story
How We Met
When asked how they met, Scott and Alison like to tell people that they are high school sweethearts. However, as most of you know, it took until they were both in Harrisonburg, VA about 5 years later. Alison was there getting her masters at JMU and Scott was in town for an alumni event at Bridgewater, and they both happened to swipe right on Bumble. About 2 years later, they moved in together in Baltimore, got their dream puppy, and the rest is history!
The Proposal
If you ask Scott when he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Alison, he will tell you it was during their first date in Harrisonburg enjoying ice cream and talking so much the employees had to kick them out before closing. Fast forward to shortly after purchasing their first home, Scott really started to plan how he wanted to propose. While planning their house warming party, Scott came up with the idea to make it an engagement party as well. With a couple months to spare, Scott started secretly planning with Alison's sister, Leah. They came up with the idea to do it in Baltimore where Scott and Alison first moved in together. Scott decided to take Alison, Leah, and Leah's boyfriend to their favorite restaurant and one of their first date spots, Vida Taco Bar, in Fells Point. Meanwhile, Scott had his friends Alex, Emily and Sean create the perfect proposal set up where Scott and Alison had their first picnic, going as far as picking up Brewer from their home in Hunt Valley so he can be a part of his parents big day! After a few confidence boosting margaritas and a short walk down to the water, Scott asked Alison if she wanted to take a picture where they had their first picnic. Alison slowly started noticing what was going on and after Brewer ran up and greeted them, they walked over to the set up and Scott got on one knee and asked the question!
