Our Story
How We Met
Our story began on a 4th of July night in Boston while we were both students at Northeastern University. Celebrating amidst the fireworks on Commonwealth Avenue, we were unknowingly about to embark on a lifetime of adventures together. After college, we overcame the challenges of a long-distance relationship, living in Milwaukee and Boston before settling in Chicago for five years. Our journey continued with the search for a permanent home, leading us to Melrose where we finally found our dream home.
Our adventures weren't limited to geography; we explored the world, from the glaciers of Argentina to the elephants of Thailand. As our love grew, we embraced each other's passions – I introduced Amanda to the world of spicy Indian cuisine, while she shared the joy of outdoor activities like running and skiing with me. Amidst our adventures, we expanded our family, adopting two cats, Baloo and Mowgli, while living in Chicago. We also fostered eight dogs and two cats, contributing to the well-being of furry friends in need. A decade since our unexpected meeting, our love story remains a testament to enduring love, shared adventures, and the beauty of building a life together.
The Proposal
After 10 years and two houses, I am finally getting my act together. I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate our relationship with all of you since we will likely have a nontraditional, small destination wedding or elopement.
The Plan: I plan to propose to Amanda while hiking nearby. After the hike I will let her know of our early dinner reservation at a nice restaurant. Instead, we will arrive at Scott Farm to surprise her with family, friends, and food.
