Our Story
How We Met
Matt and Rachael’s journey began back in the glory days of college at Monmouth University. They were both members of each respective soccer program where they would meet for the first time. Little did they know their close friendship through soccer would turn into so much more.
After they both graduated, they went on a cruise to Bermuda with their friends to celebrate. It was there that Matt finally realized how totally amazing Rachael is and asked her on their first date. That one trip to Bermuda changed their relationship forever as they started dating on July 2, 2017.
The Proposal
Throughout the years, the two have made cruises their go-to vacation. On June 2, 2023 the couple went on a summer vacation from Bayonne, New Jersey to the Bahamas. I guess the nerves really got to Matt because he proposed on the balcony of the ship before the ship could even leave the port! As the ship set sail, they both popped champagne and celebrated alongside family for the rest of the vacation.
