How We Met
We met in our senior year of high school. Ben asked Katie on a date in the middle of the hallway on the way to first period. We didn't actually have our first date until a couple of weeks later, but we've been together ever since!
The Proposal
Katie was down visiting Ben in North Carolina to help take care of him after he had ankle surgery. Just a couple days after the surgery, Ben said he wanted to take Katie to see a cool spot. Katie was under the impression that we were going to see a cool tree on the Marine base, Camp Lejeune, called the Bicentennial Tree. Once we were under it, Ben got down on one knee and proposed!
