Our Story
How We Met
In June of 2020, by chance online when the world was shut down, Mike and Andrea bonded over their love of movies and music. Their first month of knowing each other, they spoke multiple times a day before meeting up for the first time. Mike sent Andrea funny memes and music to help describe how he felt. Andrea reciprocated those feelings, putting into words what the music meant to them both. For dates, they took many adventures outdoors, bike rides, hiking and kayaking in the Hudson Valley, swimming in its waterfalls, watching older movies at the drive-in theater and took turns cooking tasty meals. Their desire to know each other and be together grew with every thought shared, and this desire grew into a deeper love as their connection developed.
The Proposal
Mike spent months planning ahead! The week of their latest trip to Belize, preparing to pop the question, Mike took every few minutes of alone time he had to secretly trace down the items he wanted to make the night special. He searched local shops that supplied white Christmas lights, tiki torches and gadgets to make the night memorable. On the last night of their trip, Mike surprised Andrea on the beach with beautiful outdoor lighting surrounding a gazebo, over 2 hours worth of touching music playing, and a camera set up recording the moment. They swayed to the heartfelt tunes, Andrea felt overwhelmed realizing all the efforts Mike made, and as "Slow Motion" by David Gray began to peak, Mike bent down on one knee and asked Andrea to spend their life together. Andrea's yes turned into a kiss and hop embrace.
