How We Met
Lilly and Michael (known fondly to most as McGurk) met on the shared porch of their apartment building in Allston, MA—just a couple of short weeks before she was shipping off to Skagway, AK for a summer newspaper reporting internship. Preparing to move out, she offered to sell him her furniture and, despite his unsuccessful attempt at haggling, they hit it off and spent every night talking on the porch until she left. They spoke on the phone every day she was gone, and eventually found their way back to each other in Boston. The couch he bought is still in their apartment today—and the rest is history!
The Proposal
Michael proposed to Lilly on Nahant Beach at sunset on October 22, 2022, and promptly whisked her away to a surprise engagement party where they were surrounded by all of their closest friends.
