Our Story
How We Met
Our love story began on June 28th, 2018, on Ladies Night at The Windbreak, a popular local party bar known for its great live music. Oliver was out with Best Man, Waylon; Monica was out with a group of her friends. A few hours into the night, Oliver approached Monica to ask about an interesting situation we both witnessed. He invited her over to their table to talk more. We left that night with each other's phone numbers and promises to talk more in the morning. The rest is history!
The Proposal
On August 24th, 2023, shortly after our 5-year dating anniversary, we planned a trip to Black Hills, South Dakota with Monica's family. Having arrived only the afternoon before, our first outing of the trip was planned by Oliver to a beautiful waterfall called Spearfish Falls. After some complaints from the peanut gallery on the short hike down to the waterfall, Oliver asked Monica to take picture with him. After she handed her things to her mom, she turned around and saw Oliver down on one knee, displaying the most beautiful ring she'd ever seen! It was the easiest "yes" she ever said!
