The Proposal

We went for a getaway trip to Eureka Springs in March of 2024. On the scenic drive up, we stopped at an overlook of the mountains right outside of our destination. We wrote our names on the wall, spent some time walking around and enjoying the view, and headed on our way. I had a sneaky suspicion that something might happen that weekend, so while we were eating st cute restaurants, walking through the Eureka shops, and zip lining in the Ozark mountains, i was just waiting for the proposal to happen. On Sunday, our last day, there had been no proposal and we were on our way back home. I was sad and wondering what had gone wrong! We got to the area where we stopped on our way up to Eureka Springs, and Brandon decided to pull over for a break. We got out of the car, and again walked around to enjoy the view. Brandon said he forgot something in the car, and came back out with the sharpie we had used to write our names on the wall. He started writing underneath our names, the letters “Enga-“ and i immediately knew what he was writing. I started crying and he turned around towards me and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! After we made our FaceTime calls and sent out our messages to friends and family, he was finally able to write “Engaged March 30th 2024” on the wall. Now, we will be able to be reminded of this special moment every time we pass that wall.
