Our Story
How We Met
We first met in 2020, and our first date was at a golf course in Wahoo, NE—where I’m 99% sure I won that round. From there, we spent countless days together, whether it was hitting the golf course, cruising around in a Jeep with the doors off, or binge-watching Harry Potter movies. Let’s not forget the countless trips to Blue Sushi that became a staple of our time together. It was in those simple moments that we really started to fall for each other.
The Proposal
When I say I had no idea the proposal was happening, I truly mean it. It was a Friday after work, we were headed to Columbus for a friend's celebration. As we were about to leave, Zach casually suggested we stop at a bar on the way. I was a little confused—why stop before heading to Columbus? But of course, I went along with it (somewhat). Our stop turned out to be one of our favorite spots, The Barnato Lounge in Omaha. The Masters golf tournament was on, and let me tell you, I was completely zoned in. Then, Zach suggested we check out the Speakeasy—something I didn’t want to do because, well, golf. He practically had to drag me away from the screen! But when we walked into the Speakeasy, I was still completely clueless. In the blink of an eye, Zach was down on one knee, asking me to marry him. And just as that moment unfolded, I saw one of my best friends with her camera, capturing it all. It was the most incredible surprise, and I couldn’t have been more shocked or happy!
