Our Story
How We Met
Kevin and Kaitlin met in 2013, at Cave a Vin wine bar. Kaitlin was a waitress, and Kevin's friend Jack was the bartender. It wasn't until years later in 2016, (June 8, 2016 to be exact, but who is keeping track?) that the two had bumped into each other (literally) at a concert at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT. From that night on, their relationship transpired. 8 years, a house and a dog later, Kevin and Kaitlin approach the biggest celebration of their life to date.
The Proposal
On Friday, July 28, 2023, a perfect and beautiful beach day, they decided to plan a day at Kevin's mother's beach in Madison. They were joined by their close friends Bridget and Thomas. Kaitlin, rocking to the music, enjoying the waves crashing, and of course - Rosè in hand, was oblivious to what was about to ensue. In-fact, she had told Bridget that morning (you can ask Bridget) that she had accepted Kevin would not propose and was happy to just have him in her life. With her eyes closed, soaking in the day, Kevin jumped from behind and got on one knee. Kaitlin began screaming, with disbelief and mere shock of what knelt in front of her. The love of her life asked her the most monumental question. Magically appearing, Bridget and Thomas pulled out a cooler of bubbly, as if they knew this would be happening. Bottles popped, phone calls were made and the celebrations embarked. A surprise engagement party, planned by Kevin, Kaitlin's cousin Ashley and family, proceeded later that evening. Kaitlin's best friend Kayla secretly flew in from Florida, leaving behind 3 toddlers at home (one of them Kaitlin's god-daughter), to top the final surprise.
