How We Met
We met on the 'Dem Lean Back Boys' flag football team in Washington, D.C. Jules was a star receiver, and Matt was always late. After bonding over football (and Clemson handing Miami their worst loss in school history...) we realized we didn't want to stop seeing each other when the season ended. The rest is history.
The Proposal
As an active and outdoorsy couple that can no longer keep up with the 20-somethings playing flag football in the city, we took on new hobbies such as hiking, backpacking, and sailing (A Foster Family tradition). On a beautiful Friday night in July, 2021, Matt convinced Jules to do our first sunset sail in Edgewater, Maryland. After a successful sail in perfect weather, Matt delivered a very passionate speech about how excited and honored he was to take the next step in life together (finally!).
