Our Story
How We Met
Jake lived in Chanhassen, and Julia lived 30 miles away in St. Anthony. The likelihood of them crossing paths was slim. However, dating apps made it possible. After a month of texting, multiple canceled dates on Julia’s part, and Jake’s persistence, they finally had their first date at Silverwood Park to hammock. When the cord holding the hammock snapped, they both fell to the ground but couldn’t stop laughing. After leaving their first date, they both knew there would be many more dates to come.
The Proposal
After a year and a half of dating, Jake and Julia knew they would spend the rest of their lives together. Jake brought Julia to the exact spot where their hammock had snapped on their first date and got down on one knee. Julia could barely wait to say yes! They were both giddy to be promising to spend their lives together. Wedding planning was delayed by the Covid shutdown and Julia graduating nursing school. However, with 5 years together and 3.5 years engaged, they couldn’t be more excited to get married.
