How We Met
In May 2021, Joe and Ashleigh had their first date at Mad Mex in State College. As they bonded over their mutual love for YMCA camping, creative pursuits, and a passion for teaching, they quickly realized just how much they had in common. For three years, they supported each other while building their careers, navigating a long-distance relationship across PA. Since June 2024, they've been happily living together in State College with their two sweet (and thoroughly pampered) cats, Fig Newton and Peach.
The Proposal
Although Ashleigh was the first to say "I love you," it was Joe who took the next big step. In October 2024, Joe surprised Ashleigh with a romantic weekend getaway to the scenic hills of Pittsburgh, PA. After a dinner reservation at the elegant Gastropub "Meat and Potatoes" and sharing a late night heart to heart, Joe got down on one knee and asked Ashleigh to marry him. Her answer? "YES!"
