How We Met
One night, in the Spring of 2017, Kelly was scrolling somewhat mindlessly through a dating website, when he stopped cold upon seeing “ItsMeJenna.” He thought – and then declared – “I HAVE to meet her.”
On April 5, 2017, Jenna sent Kelly their first email via Match.com. They promptly shared several lengthy, and giddy, emails with each other. They spoke of their mutual love of Minnesota cabins, the movie Tommy Boy, and dogs, and it was ON.
Their first date was on April 22, 2017, at the now-defunct Bradstreet Crafthouse off Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis. The magnetism between them was as intense as the sriracha fries.
Soon after, they made plans to go paddle-boarding at Lake Calhoun. While those plans went unfulfilled, they have since enjoyed 8 years filled with laughter, impromptu kitchen dance-sessions, and two amazing children.
A lot of scrolling eventually led Kelly and Jenna to Sept. 27, and a vow to spend a lifetime together. We’re honored that you could join us for this special evening, and we’re appreciative of the role you played in guiding us to this destination.
The Proposal
On the afternoon of Monday, October 14, 2023, Kelly happened to be off from work. It happened to be a glorious, sun-splashed afternoon. And, he happened to have a ring burning a hole in his pocket.
Taking all those factors into consideration, Kelly asked his partner-in-crime to go for a walk on the nature trail in Bloomington, near the Minnesota River.
With leaves fluttering to Earth all around them, the couple ended up on a bridge near Old Cedar Avenue. Kelly soon knelt on one knee. Jenna appeared to be distracted by Canadian geese. Kelly soon gained her undivided attention, however, by speaking of the peaceful life he envisioned for them and, eventually, asking for her hand in marriage.
After putting her hands to her face and gasping, Jenna happily accepted. The couple celebrated with a tearful embrace.
The couple promptly visited every wedding venue in the Greater Twin Cities, and taste-tested countless hors d'oeuvres, while compiling a killer wedding playlist. As a result, we really hope you enjoy the food, the music…and feel our love – not just for each other, but for each of you.
