Our Story
How We Met
On September 15, 2022 unbeknownst to us God had started to design His plan for our future. It all started with a casual connection on Social Media through Gateway Singles group. It was in one of our Singles group social gatherings that we crossed paths and introduced ourselves. Time went by and we both continued our busy lives, but always thinking about that moment when we saw each other for the first time. We knew there was something special but at the time we didn't know what it was. At the time we were both praying for God's direction in our personal lives. We were praying that God would bring the right partner for our lives.
On February 12, 2023 we reconnected on a Gateway Singles outing at the Dallas Zoo. For both of us it was a last minute decision to attend but interestingly enough we were the first ones to arrive. In our long conversation (that lasted 5 hours!), we felt that God was starting to connect our hearts. We continue to pray for God's guidance and His will for our lives. On March 12, we decided to officially start our relationship as a couple. Learning from each other has been a great experience and an opportunity of growth. On September 30, 2023 we made the decision to start a new journey together as we got engaged. Since then we have been excited for what God has in store for us.
The Proposal
It was a warm Saturday night on September 30th, 2023, we planned to attend "Night Lights Sky Lantern Festival". The place was crowded, there was live music and a great environment. We were all excited as we enjoyed campfires and prepared our lanterns for release. Patrick: As the lanterns illuminated the sky I felt it was the perfect opportunity to get on one knee and ask Jeannie to marry me.
Jeannie: Patrick had planned the whole thing perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised. It made my heart rejoice and I knew it was the beginning of a wonderful journey together. And of course "I said yes".
