Our Story

How We Met

Emma and Chelse were working at a residential home for at risk youth in 2017. They met during orientation... Emma was a new hire and Chelse taught some of the trainings. Chelse would say that all was platonic at that point and that she really noticed Emma when she showed up to her office demonstrating her true quirky personality. That is when Chelse asked for Emma's number and Emma stated "ummmm you already have it." From there, endless texting and talking began and we started to learn more about each other. One day Chelse stated to Emma, "I think I have a girl crush on you." After plenty of overthinking on Emma's part, our first date was set for Dave and Busters and the rest is history.

The Proposal

The day was Thursday...January 9, 2020 to be exact. A time when only medical professionals and nail stylists wore masks. Emma arrived home from therapy to a suspiciously calm townhouse. After climbing the initial stairs, Emma spotted a note taped to the wall--READ ME. The main points were: if you need to pee, go now in the shared bathroom; if not, proceed to your favorite joint to hangout. Surprisingly, she proceeded straight to the den where she located a 2nd note as well as a plate of sushi. Given another option, Emma could stay and eat by herself (tempting!) or take it upstairs to share. With sushi in tow, Emma began to climb the second set of stairs which had been scattered with faux rose petals and featured hanging photos (chronologically) from their relationship. When she made it to the landing and entered their bedroom she discovered Chelse, waiting on one knee, with more petals and pictures. Being the practical woman she is, Emma first exclaimed, "When did you have time to do this?" before quickly following up with the more important response of YES!
