Travel

Our wedding venue is located in Hankinson ND, at the Lake Elsie Wedding Barn. We will have a shuttle bus that will take you to any hotels in Hankinson including, Hot Cakes Motel, Hankinson Inn, and Dakota Magic Casino, during and after the dance. There is also plenty hotel and Airbnb options in the Wahpeton ND area as well, but the shuttle bus will only take those staying at Hankinson hotels. If anyone has questions that cannot be answered on this website, please let us know!

Lake Elsie Wedding Barn LLC and Lady on the Lake Bed and Breakfast LLC has a wine, beer, and liquor license. Any alcohol to be sold/consumed must be provided by our on-site licensed bar. If outside alcohol is reported client will be subject to a $250.00 Fine.

Directions

From Fargo:
We are 50 miles south of Fargo on I-29 South
Take Exit 8-Hankinson
Turn right onto Highway 11
Go through the town of Hankinson (you will still be on Highway 11)
Turn left onto County Road 21 (landmark-city park)
In 1 mile turn right onto 95th street
In .9 miles the venue will be on the left-hand side.
BIG Red Barn you can't miss it!

From Wahpeton:
Take I-29 South
Drive 14.6 miles
Take Exit 8-Hankinson
Turn Right onto ND Highway 11
Drive for 3.8 miles
Turn left on County Road 21/4th Ave SW
(landmark city park)
Drive 1.1 miles
Turn right on 94th St SE
Drive .8 miles and the Big Red Barn will be on the left!

From Dakota Magic Casino:
Turn right onto 102nd St SE-merge onto I-29 N
Drive 7.5 miles
Take exit 8 for ND highway 11 (Hankinson)
Sharp left onto ND 11 West-Drive 4 miles
Turn left on County Road 21/4th Ave SW
(landmark-city park)
Drive 1.1 miles
Turn right onto 94th St SE
Drive .9 Miles the Big Red Barn will be on the left!

Hankinson is a small town in North Dakota, a great area for anything outdoor, and in our opinion small towns are great to walk around in and enjoy the old buildings and nature scene. Lake Elsie is also located just outside of Hankinson, our wedding venue is actually on Lake Elsie. Beautiful scenery and best time to take it in is in the summer time!
