Our Story
How We Met
It was April 23, 2019, and Ashley needed a new car. When Shannon and Ashley went in, Caleb greeted them. Ashley found a red Genesis G70 that day that she loved. When Ashley went back 3 days later to pickup her new Genesis, Caleb was taking Ashley on a test drive, and Shannon yelled "Take her to sushi". After Caleb heard that, he knew Ashley was talking about him to her mom so he knew she was interested. Three days later, Shannon called Caleb to tell him that Ashley was having a little bit of buyer’s remorse and needed a different car ... a.k.a an SUV because that is what she actually went in there for. Caleb called Ashley and got her to come back into the dealership that day. He quickly realized there was a bit of tension between Ashley and Shannon, like mothers and daughters can be. Caleb decided to take Ashley outside and tell her "Hey, listen ... Your mom is just trying to help you. Now ... We are going to go back in there and you're going to be nice to your mom and I'm gonna find you a car, OK?". Ashley was frozen and taken aback by Caleb's tenacity. She straightened up real fast and was instantly smitten. She ended up getting a Kona that day, a small SUV. Their story in a nutshell is … Ashley walked into the Hyundai dealership and walked out with a Hyundai and a Husband. Since Caleb and Ashley met, they had a sweet little girl named Skylar Rayna Wilcox (she'll be 4 years old in January). She is a true Covid baby! So full of spunk and spirit and is super smart! They also bought a Ryan Home in Wesley Chapel and have been living there since January 2021. Yes, they got engaged, closed on a house, and had a baby all in the same month! January 2021 was a very busy month for them. They can’t wait to celebrate their love with all their family and friends. <3
The Proposal
Caleb proposed to Ashley on New Year's 2021 at midnight. Ashley was distracted by the fireworks and Caleb got down on one knee and proposed. She turned around and there he was asking her to marry him. Of course, she said YES! He even put together a cute slideshow that he had displayed on his mom's garage during the proposal. Most of our family was there and some friends and it was very special. <3
