Our Story

How We Met

Mandy and Robert were introduced to each other through mutual friends in their early twenties. Now in their early thirties, they are tying the knot in their happy place: the pines. Their shared interests of camping, four wheeling, or doing basically anything outdoors continued to connect them. Although for years their compatibility was clear to many around them, Mandy and Robert maintained a friendship that cultivated a great foundation for a future relationship. (Who doesn't love a slow burn romance?)

The Proposal

Speaking of their love of being outdoors, the proposal had to take place in the desert at Butcher Jones, a place that is sentimental to both Robert and Mandy. Robert planned a day out in the RZR and perfectly timed their arrival at the top of a hill that overlooks the desert and lake to have no one else there (very romantic, well-done Robert). Of course, it couldn't be that simple. If you know Robert and Mandy, you know that the proposal wouldn't be "them" if something ridiculous didn't happen. So, while they made their way up said hill, a wasp decided it was not a fan of Morgan Wallen (or Mandy, I don't really know) and stung Mandy. Thankfully, Mandy learned she is only minorly allergic to wasps that day, and Robert was able to quickly collect himself, get down on one knee, and pop the question. The proposal being a funny story is what makes it so perfect and confirms to the couple that as long as they keep laughing together through life, they will have a long, happy, and loving marriage.
