Our Story
How We Met
Back in 2014 Zach and Gabi's best friends were talking so they found out about each other through them. Fast forward to 2016, they decided to meet in person and they started going on dates. After 3 months of getting to know each other, Zach asked Gabi to be his girlfriend and they've been together since! Yes they've had some hard times through their joinery together but they always made it through and worked things out for the best.
The Proposal
Zach and Gabi headed to Maui, Hawaii on a Vacation with Gabi's Parents, Sister and brother in law. Their 6th night there, on May 6th, 2024, they were planning on going to a Luau, but things took a turn when they showed up to the Luau and no one was there. Apparently we had the wrong night. Zach starts freaking out to himself a little bit and Gabi was confused. Zach's Proposal plans where messed up.... for the moment. Jack, (Gabi's brother in law) starts calling all different restaurants to find a place for dinner, it's currently around 6PM as he's trying to do so. A lot of restaurants are telling him they are booked for the night. He finally gets ahold of a restaurant that says "6 people just canceled come on in". Perfect timing! The restaurant ended up being "The Sea House Restaurant" which was apparently one of the best restaurants in Maui. It happens to be right on Napili Beach! Good call Jack! Nice Save! We arrive and place our orders! Lexi (Gabi's Sister) says lets go get a family picture on the beach, (while waiting for our food). So we all get up and head to the beach, which was maybe 20/30 steps from our table. As soon as we are about to step food our of the restart it starts to pour raining! Zach's freaking out inside to himself again! We sit back down and as soon as we do it stops raining... that's Hawaii for ya! So what do you think we do... yep get right back up. Gabi thinks her Grandpa Ken, up in heaven is playing little tricks on Zach! But Zach doesn't give up, he's determined now! We step foot on the beach and Lexi and Jack get a picture first and then Zach and Gabi go out and get pictures next. Gabi acts clueless even though she definitely knows what's going down... zachs knee... haha get it!? Okay back to the story... Zach FINALLY does it!!!...(after 8 years) Zach asks Gabi to marry him! (This was about 7PM Hawaii time and 1AM Ohio time). And you know what Gabi does, after 10 secs of 'shocked face'... she tackles him in the sand with excitement! Lots of laugher and tears and happiness! A very eventful exciting day that was so worth it! Thanks Grandpa Davis for the good luck rain! ..... now....Let's get married!!!
