The Proposal

The ultimate surprise! Leading up to the proposal, Eric knew in February which is when he bought the ring and immediately went over to ask permission from Madelyn's dad, Kurt. From there, Eric planned a completely secret gathering of friends and family starting with a "photoshoot" in Stillwater with his sister-in-law, Lacy and her mother, Melanie. Mind you he kept the secret for 2 months!
Madelyn had no idea what was going to happen at this point and didn't even question why we were still doing a photoshoot in 30-degree weather while it was snowing! After a handful of posing for pictures (not either of our favorite things to do, candid photography is more our style), Eric got down on one knee and Lacy captured all of the moment so perfectly.
Shock would be an understatement for what Madelyn was experiencing for the next couple of hours! Eric had family from hers and his side waiting down at the freight house in a private area for a lunch and to share the excitement with.
We were able to sneak away for a quick to The Velveteen to be with each other before being greeted with our closest of friends at the Lumberjack again unbeknownst to Madelyn. We through axes, enjoyed cold brews, time with our friends and topped the night off with our friends at one of our favorite restaurants, Lolitos. And the rest is history, as they say.
