Our Story
How We Met
When Emily needed firewood to keep her warm throughout the winter, Robert’s brother offered to help. She insisted she come along to help get her own wood. There she met Roger’s family; enter Robert. She was “impressed” by his ax skills and his knowledge on how to “build a fire.” Emily pursued Robert with fairly obvious signs, which naturally went right over his head. Thankfully, Emily didn’t have to hit him over the head and drag him back to a cave, Robert got a hint. The last eight years have been filled with trials; from a long distance relationship to who drives better - even down to which way the toilet paper should face. In the end, they still love each other… and Emily builds all of the fires.
The Proposal
Robert and Emily, our heroes, both have college degrees and profound experience arguing, so naturally any proposal was going to be tough. On the one hand proposing is a simple question as to whether a person will put on a ring and say yes. On the other hand it is an intricate agreement on the merging of lives. Simply put, one could say Emily asked Robert. In a complex way, one could say they spent many hours talking about how they envisioned their future together, and eventually came to a successful conclusion. Either way, we are all gathering in Washington to watch them “negotiate” their vows and then eat some steak!
