Our Story
How We Met
We met at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji, MN in August of 2021. When Cody first met "her," he could tell that she was different. When Hannah met "him" she could tell something separated him from other guys. Being part of the same friend group, we got to know each other pretty well, including bonding over our similar (some would also say weird) senses of humor. We started dating January 15th, 2022 (I will not go into how a sister may have stolen a phone and friends were spilling secrets to both of us...stinkers). We have gone through a lot of different situations and have had a lot of time to grow together in Christ and learn more about each other. Taking the time to get to know each other well over the past couple of years has set a great foundation for a marriage we are looking forward to.
The Proposal
On October 15, 2023, Cody and Hannah stopped at the Ashland Marina and got out to walk a loop by the shoreline. For some context, Hannah had called her mom to let her promptly know that she and Cody, were in fact, NOT engaged and headed back north...NOT engaged. Cody, knowing his plan, snickered and giggled for a long two hours. Hannah, completely unaware, went along as Cody asked to pull into the marina. After they walked over to a dock during sunset, Cody gave Hannah a big hug, and after saying a few heartfelt things, he got down on one knee and asked if she would marry him. Apparently, she did not say yes right away because she was to busy saying "oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" Of course the answer was YES, and they both could not be more excited for their future together!
