Our Story
How We Met
We met in 2017 at Southeastern at the beginning of our freshman year. I had just gone through recruitment and Micah was going through rush. We met through mutual friends at a football game while Micah was tailgating with his fraternity and I was on Lionettes. From the start, we clicked and felt like we knew each other for years. After making many memories and Micah being my biggest fan from supporting me through Lionettes, being on his fraternity’s White Rose Court, pushing me through nursing school, going on tons of beach trips, Mardi Gras balls, concerts, doing “long” distance for his work, and so so much more (I could go on forever). We both knew our love for each other grew by the day and with God in the middle of our relationship we had something special. We cannot wait to celebrate our love with the special people in our lives and start this next chapter!
The Proposal
After sending Micah hints left and right and probably aggravating him about proposing, little did I know he had a plan all along. He was designing the perfect ring and picking out the perfect spot with family and friends. We were coming up on our 6th year anniversary. Micah made dinner reservations at Houmas House and mentioned we would get there early to walk around in the garden and stop by the Turtle Bar, but I still had no clue. Once we arrived we walked over to the garden and Micah looked at me and said “that’s a nice bridge” and from that point I just knew it was about to happen. He walked me over to the bridge and got down on one knee to propose and even had some of our best friends hiding there to capture the special moment. We finished the night with dinner and had a surprise brunch with our family the next morning. Everything about that weekend was so special and perfect.
