Our Story
How We Met
Two people looking for something genuine crossed paths on Bumble, and with just a swipe their story began. Christina - a high school FACS teacher in St. Louis, and Adam - nearing the end of optometry school at University of Missouri -St. Louis.
Adam and Christina had their first date at Mission Taco in St. Louis, MO. Over delicious tacos, street corn, and margaritas they discovered a shared love for adventure, sports, spontaneity, and most importantly, each other. As the months passed, they explored St. Louis discovering new spots, attending St. Louis Cardinals and Blues sporting events, and creating many memories. Their connection grew stronger, and with hearts full of hope, they decided to embark on a new chapter together, moving to Asheville, NC - a place that would become the backdrop for their love story to unfold.
Travel became their shared passion. In 2024, they set off on incredible journeys, from the sunny expanses of Scottsdale, AZ for the PGA Waste Management Tour to the lush rainforests of Costa Rica. But it was their 11 day adventure to Iceland that would change their lives forever!
The Proposal
On the third day of this Icelandic journey, Adam and Christina found themselves on a ferry heading north to the mystical West Fjords. The scenery was breathtaking, and as they drove along the fjords, they arrived at Dynjandi - an awe-inspiring waterfall known for its bridal veil-like cascade (a fitting symbol for what was about to happen).
The hike up the muddy, noisy mountain was a challenge, but the sight of Dynjandi made it all worthwhile. While Christina marveled at the waterfall's beauty, Adam's heart raced with anticipation. He nervously searched for someone to capture the moment, but fate intervened when a kind couple approached them, offering to take their picture. Christina eagerly climbed to the perfect spot, oblivious to Adam's plan as he stayed behind to whisper his secret intention to the couple.
When Adam joined Christina, he held both of her hands (removed his sunglasses) and began speaking words that would forever echo in Christina's heart. At first Christina was confused, wondering why he was delaying the picture-taking, but as Adam continued realization dawned. The magical moment unfolded before her eyes- Adam was proposing.
With the thundering waterfall as their witness and the kind couple capturing the moment, Adam and Christina embraced this new chapter of their love story. But the magic didn't stop there; they decided to keep their engagement a secret, savoring the intimate joy of it just between the two of them for the rest of their Icelandic adventure.
And so, in the land of fire and ice under the resounding power of Dynjandi, their forever began.
