Our Story
How We Met
Friday night karaoke at Tanner's in Waldo was the place to be. Cassandra's former boss dragged her along after a work BBQ, and Dallen's trip to Charlotte for work had been cancelled. The colleague started the night off with Africa by Toto, followed by Dallen singing Hold On by Wilson Phillips. A short while later, Dallen and Cassandra's coworker sang a duet, after which introductions were made and the rest is history.
The Proposal
Cassandra's favorite band, Lord Huron, was playing their now-annual concert at Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Colorado a few days after her birthday. She hadn't been able to attend previous years concerts and it was her dream to see them at that venue. Dallen insisted driving was better than flying, which made Cassandra suspicious. After a daytime walkthrough of the venue with no proposal, Cassandra dismissed the idea. That night a storm rolled through requiring a quest to find ponchos. Ponchos acquired, the two settled in to enjoy the show. Cassandra leaned over to tell Dallen her favorite song was starting. He turned to the people behind to ask for a photo of the two. Dallen then surprised Cassandra mid-photo with a ring and asked Cassandra to marry him. She said yes and ugly-cried for most of the remaining concert.
