Our Story
How We Met
We first met on a trip to Mexico in 2019. We remained friends for the next few years. Ryan began bartending at The Boxyard and Brooke was a dancer for the IFL team, the Tucson Sugar Skulls. The "Sugar Dolls" would go to The Boxyard after every home game. Every Saturday when Brooke came to the bar Ryan told his coworker, "I love that girl." He finally asked Brooke out for dinner after the season in October of 2021. We drank tequila and talked all night. The rest is history!
The Proposal
This is a good one... We went to a good friend's Christmas party December 26, 2022. We pre-gamed at her house then headed to the Maverick for some country dancing. At the Maverick we ran into Ryan's best friend, Joey, and his mom, Mrs. Berwick, who had been in Ryan's life for a long time. Mrs. Berwick pulled Ryan aside and asked him why he hadn't proposed to this girl yet. Ryan told her that he just needed to get a ring. Mrs. Berwick took the ring off of her finger and handed it to Ryan and said now you have no excuse. Right then and there, Ryan got down on his knee and proposed. We went to the Pawn Shop the next day and picked out a ring.
