Our Story
How We Met
We met the good old fashioned way... on a dating app. While it's not exactly the most romantic way to meet someone, we are so incredibly grateful that God used this as a means for us to find each other. With many intense questions and deep conversations, our phone calls continued to grow longer and longer. After 3 months of this, Trevor drove 3 hours to meet me for the first time and we were both so relieved and excited to find that the person on the other side of the phone was everything we were hoping for and more.
The Proposal
Trevor had planned an elaborate scavenger hunt for me as my Christmas present that led me all over Raleigh to some of our favorite places. We walked around Umstead Park, had lunch at Chick-fil-A, went to the shooting range, and to Doreatha Dix Park; the spot where we had our first date. When he got down on one knee, it was a complete surprise! When we had talked about marriage, we had discussed getting engaged in the spring after he graduated, so a proposal for Christmas was the last thing on my mind. I was shocked and so glad he did not plan a photographer to capture what I am sure was a priceless expression of utter disbelief and many happy tears. What was more shocking was to discover afterwards that my family, his family and friends all knew weeks before of his plans and no one gave anything away. It was by far the best surprise I have ever received and we couldn't be happier.
